Members of the Vidalia Heritage Academy Harvard Model Congress Team spoke to the Vidalia Kiwanis Club about their experiences at the 31st Harvard Model Congress in Boston, Massachusetts. HMC is a prestigious simulation of the US Federal Government and is sponsored by Political Science students from Harvard College. Vidalia Heritage Academy is the only school in Georgia qualified for HMC and there were over 1,500 students from the USA and other nations participating in the 4-day event. The students explained to the Kiwanians their HMC roles as members of Congress, an FBI Special Agent, the President’s National Security Advisor, and the Republican National Committee. They described their accomplishments at HMC, what they had learned from their experiences, and answered questions from the audience. Ten Heritage students qualified for the 2016 Harvard Model Congress Team and the school plans to expand and improve its program in the up-coming school year. Soli Deo Gloria.
